My device doesn't show up
- Make sure Bluetooth is on and BlueKit is allowed to use it: Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth > BlueKit.
- Take earbuds out of their charging case, or open the lid. Earbuds in a closed case often stop broadcasting.
- Check that the device has battery. A device that's off or out of charge can't be detected.
- Headphones connected to another phone or computer may stop broadcasting. Turn Bluetooth off on your other devices while you search.
- Bluetooth reaches about 10 meters (33 feet) indoors. Search room by room where you last used the device, then tap Search Again.
The distance jumps around
That's normal. BlueKit estimates distance from Bluetooth signal strength, which changes with walls, furniture, people and the way the device is facing. Move slowly, pause for a few seconds in each spot and follow the trend: a rising signal and a falling distance mean you're getting closer.
The map doesn't show my location
Allow location access for BlueKit in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > BlueKit. BlueKit uses your location only on your iPhone to center the map.
